| E-Commerce in 2007 More Profitable, Less Expensive, Per Actinic Study
Surrey, United Kingdom - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - January 24, 2007 - Online trading has become more profitable and less costly to implement, according to new research on the state of the UK SME retail market, from e-commerce software specialist, Actinic. In addition, the report surmises that despite the availability of e-commerce, few retailers are grasping the opportunity. Actinic's latest annual survey indicates that 90% of company web sites are profitable; and on average, companies that implement ecommerce find it costs 40% less than they anticipated. But only one in ten retailers has a transactional web site. Even amongst those who already accept telephone orders for home delivery, only one in four have an ecommerce facility. Chris Barling, CEO of Actinic CEO commented, "Online stores are rarely unprofitable, because there is huge growth in the sector and overheads are far lower than their offline counterparts.
